C. KURT ZORN is Associate Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education and a Professor in the School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA) at Indiana University (IU) Bloomington.

Kurt’s research interests focus on state and local public finance, tax policy, transportation safety, economic development, and gaming. He has conducted research, consulted, and taught in the general area of tax policy and fiscal decentralization in a number of international settings including Egypt, Bosnia-Herzegovina, the Russian Federation, China, Taiwan, and the United Arab Emirates.

Previously Kurt served as IU’s Director of State Relations, SPEA’s Interim Dean, and the Associate Dean for Academic and Fiscal Affairs in SPEA. He also served as the Chairman of the Indiana State Board of Tax Commissioners while on leave of absence from IU.

Kurt has served as IU’s Faculty Athletics Representative since July 2011. During that time he has served as Chair of the Joint Group and Faculty Representatives of the Big Ten Conference. Kurt currently is a member of the NCAA Committee on Academics and chairperson of its Student Athlete Academics Subcommittee and he is a member of the NCAA Committee on Institutional Performance.
